Bonjour tout le monde

The Third Week of Advent

As we enter the third week of Advent, we light the pink candle, the candle of joy. This week invites us to pause and recognise the quiet, steady joy that comes from knowing Christ is near. In the busyness of school, work, and family life, it can be easy to miss those small moments of grace: a child’s kindness, a shared laugh or a moment of peace at the end of the day.

Our Year 3 and 4 students led our liturgy this week, inviting us to reflect on a quiet joy and that, even while we are waiting, we can be happy because the Lord is near and the Christmas feast is coming soon.

May this week’s candle remind us that God’s love is already at work in our homes, in our school and in our community, filling us with hope, peace, and joyful expectation as we prepare for the coming of Jesus.

Advent Liturgies

Each week in Advent we gather together in the Hall to celebrate the season of Advent. We are led in these short reflective services by different year groups. All members of our community are more than welcome to attend these liturgies. Please see the final date below:

Advent Liturgy Week 4 - Monday 15th December 9:00am Year 5 & 6

Carols

The halls at St Bede's are filled with the sound of Carols as the students rehearse for our Annual Carols on Monday night. At this stage the weather looks to be great for an evening outside.

Please note some important information to remember for our Carols event next Monday:

  • Please email your teachers ASAP if you are not able to attend
  • Students will be sitting with their families throughout the evening, and will be called to the transition area at various times
  • Please bring along your picnic blankets and snacks/dinner
  • Those requiring camp chairs for seating will have to set up in the marked area at the back of the audience
  • Everyone is encouraged to dress in their Christmas colours
  • This is an alcohol-free family event
  • There will be no food trucks this year

End of the Year

It hard to believe that the last full week of the 2025 school year is drawing to a close. This year has been one of change for our school and through it all, our students, staff, and families have shown remarkable adaptability, patience and resilience. While change can bring uncertainty, it also brings growth and we look forward to the positive steps our community will make together. As we look back, we do so with gratitude for the support that has helped make this year a successful and hopeful one for our school’s future.

Accessing Student Reports via the NForma App

This semester, NForma will be distributing student reports through their new app. To ensure you can access your child’s report when it is released, please download the NForma app onto your device. As of today we will no longer be using the Operoo app as they are no longer operating in Australia.  Nforma is our new platform for all our permission forms, excursions and your child's medical information to be uploaded under their profile. Your information from Operoo has been transferred to Nforma.  Please check all your contact details are up to date for the beginning of 2026 school year.

We encourage you to complete this step as soon as possible to ensure a smooth experience. Thank you for your cooperation in embracing this new process.
