Prep and Grade 1

Prep

What a start! Well done to our Preps (and mum and dads) for their demonstrated responsibility - bringing in their own bags, putting their drink bottles on the stand, following the morning routine instructions on the board. All in their first week!

Grade 1

Below: Grade 1 students practising mindfulness to calm their bodies after lunch. Students have already begun using the Resilience Project journals to establish healthy practices of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. Daily mindfulness practices feature in our classroom routines throughout the day to support students to regulate. Teachers use a range of resources, not only through The Resilience Project but also others such as Smiling Minds.

Scenes from the Exon playground

Thanks to our Grade 5 buddies, who have taken on their role as playground helpers with great commitment - Grade 5 students are rostered on for recess and lunch in Exon Playground to help students connect and play.

Grades 3 and 4

Our Specialist program began this week, with students playing bocce in Physical Education - an opportunity to connect, build relationships, and support an already busy PE schedule with two weeks of daily intensive swimming in action. Our 3/4 Hub complete their Specialist subjects in multi-age groups as an opportunity to build strong relationships in the middle school.

Grades 5 and 6

Well done to our Grade 5 cohort, who have been building strategies for resilience (our focus school value for 2026). Harriet and Tilly of Grade 6 did a fantastic job launching Term 1's focus on impulse control - building on some of the work started by our current Grade 5s in 2025 - with the help of some Grade 6 performers.

Check out our sign, created by Marcel, Ken, Murphy and Harry, up in our Library. Our Grade 5s have found their inner Frozen, focusing of the concept of 'Let it go' to repair and rebuild. Watch this space as we share more learning about Resilience from across the school this year.
