Principals Message

As we enter the final term of the academic year, I would like to warmly welcome our Year 11 students as they move into Year 12 and embark on their Stage 6 Preliminary HSC courses following the completion of the first year of the compressed curriculum. Year 10 have moved into Year 11 and begin their first year of the HSC. We encourage all Stage 6 students to utilise the support available to them to ensure they reach their academic potential.
I like to sincerely thank all members of the Narrandera High School community for your patience and cooperation during the recent closure of our school due to the elevated bushfire threat last week. The Department of Education made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily close the school following the official bushfire ratings reaching extreme or catastrophic levels in our region. These decisions are always taken with the utmost priority on the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and community members. Our emergency management protocols were activated promptly, and communication lines remained open to keep everyone informed. Your understanding and adherence to these decisions were crucial in ensuring that no one was put at unnecessary risk during this period. We encourage families to continue monitoring local safety alerts and to maintain readiness for any future emergency situations.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce a series of important assemblies and events scheduled for Term 4. These include the Term 4 Formal Assembly and our annual Presentation Night, which is a highlight of our school calendar. The Formal Assembly provides an opportunity to reflect on the term’s achievements and celebrate the diverse talents of our students in academic, sporting, cultural, and community endeavours.
Presentation Night is a more formal occasion dedicated to recognising outstanding student achievement across a broad range of categories, including academic excellence, leadership, personal development, and community service. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all students who will be honoured at these events—they are a testament to your hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout the year. We eagerly look forward to welcoming family members and friends to join us in celebrating these successes, sharing in the pride of our school community, and supporting our students as they continue their learning journeys.
Thank you once again to every member of the Narrandera High School community for your ongoing support, resilience, and positive spirit. It is through this shared commitment that we create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the school if you have any questions or require any assistance as we move through this busy and important time of year
