Class Information
Wow, we cannot believe that the end of the year has arrived, and the Foundation students will be transitioning to Year One. It has been wonderful to see the huge achievements of every Foundation student throughout the year. Thank you to the Foundation families who have supported us and their child throughout the year. It has been a wonderful year, and we hope that everyone has a well-deserved break.
Each Monday afternoon, two students from each class will receive an award. This term, awards are given to students displaying the qualities of Catherine McAuley including, demonstrating dedication and a commitment to helping others, displaying a commitment to complete everything they start and showing compassion and understanding. Award winners will be acknowledged at the next assembly on the slide show. Congratulations to the award winners for Term 4 weeks, 9 & 10.

Throughout the year the students have been provided with a list of the tricky words they have learnt, as well as these words being at the back of each termly reading diary. Over the holidays could you please continue to read these words with your child or play some games with the words. This will assist with a smooth transition to Year One, helping them to continue with the skills they have learnt in reading this year.
Tomorrow morning, the Foundation students will participate in the whole school transition morning. Students will arrive at school as normal and undertake their morning routine. Once all students are settled, they will be introduced to their 2026 teacher and work in the new classes. On Thursday this week, the students will have a second transition session in the afternoon.
As part of this term's subject focus, the Year 5 and 6 students will be running various market stalls this Thursday the 11th of December. The students have put a lot of effort into their stalls, and the Foundation students will be visiting the market before the first break. All of the activities, food and drink will have a small cost. We recommend that students do not bring any more than $6 on the day. Can you please send the money for your child in either a named wallet or plastic bag. The market works best if the students bring coins because it is hard to provide change from a $5 note.
Over the next week we will begin sending home completed books and literacy activities. Please take time to empty out their bag each night and have a look at the wonderful work that the Foundation students have undertaken this year, as well as their progression from earlier in the year.
