Each semester, we share our student reports via our Parent Portal. Today, your child's report will be shared via the portal app. Please check that you have access to your child's Semester 2 report before Wednesday, Dec 17th. If you are having issues, please contact the office. If we do not hear from you before Wednesday Dec 17th we will not be able to share your child's report until the new year.

Thank you for your support and have a fantastic break.

Avoiding the Summer Slide!

Learning is for Life

The Christmas and Summer holidays are a cherished time for our families to reconnect, rest, and enjoy the many blessings of our community. While this break is essential for rejuvenation, educators often refer to a phenomenon known as the "Summer Slide"—the natural tendency for students' academic progress to slow or even regress over an extended holiday period.

A five or six-week break without engaging those hard-earned skills can make the return to the classroom in the new year a little tougher for our children.

Finding the Balance: Fun, Faith, and Focus

So, how do we keep the spark of learning alive without overwhelming our children during their much-needed rest? The answer lies in moderation, fun, and integrating faith-filled family time with simple learning moments.

Children naturally learn through play, curiosity, and exploration. The key is to support this natural inclination. We encourage you to view the holidays as a wonderful chance to keep practicing fundamental skills.

Your Holiday Learning Partnership

For our students to truly retain and embed the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout the 2025 school year, they need to revisit and practice them consistently. To help prevent the "Summer Slide" over the break, our dedicated teachers have prepared Home Learning Ideas and Activity Packs for all students.

These resources are designed to be targeted to your child’s learning level and are an invaluable tool to support them in consolidating their learning.

We kindly ask that you support your child in completing their Reading, Writing, and/or Number challenges at least 3 times a week. This small, consistent effort will make a profound difference to their confidence and readiness for 2026.

We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support as the primary educators of your children. We wish you a wonderful Christmas and look forward to celebrating all of their learning achievements when they return to school in 2026.
