Yellow PLC

What a wonderful year it has been in Yellow PLC! As we reflect on the past twelve months, we are filled with pride and joy at the progress, achievements, and special moments we've shared with each of our amazing students. Every day has brought new discoveries, celebrations, and milestones—both big and small.

Below, each class shares some of their favourite highlights from the year. We hope these snapshots capture just a little of the magic that happens in our Yellow PLC every day. 

In the last few weeks of term, 1A have been loving our swimming program, craft, cooking, practicing our numbers and colours, and lots of sensory play. We have enjoyed stirring all the delicious ingredients for slice, jelly and muffins!  We have been matching and arranging colours, and practicing writing our names. 1A have been making the most of the sunny weather and doing lots of our learning outdoors when we can. 

1B Yellow has been enjoying combining science and sensory play in the foundation courtyard. Students have been engaging happily in music therapy and play to learn sessions every week. Our favourite day of the term included our school concert and our Monday morning swimming sessions.

This year in 2A, students have engaged in hands on learning experiences. All students have enjoyed our music therapy sessions; which has supported communication, regulation and having fun throughout. Students also engaged with our Play to Learn activities which helped students build social and real-life skills in a fun structured environment. We also enjoyed sensory water play outdoors, giving students opportunities to explore and learn through meaningful sensory experiences. What a great year 2A!

This year in 2B has been full of lots of learning, laughter, and new experiences for our newest members of Hamlyn Views School. Students participated in many exciting school events, including Book Week, the 101 days of prep celebration, swimming at the pool, the school concert, and an excursion to Rippleside Playspace. They also engaged in new learning experiences across Mathematics, English, Science, Geography and History. A particular highlight was the 101 days of prep celebration, where students celebrated being at school for 101 days by dressing up in comfy pyjamas or as 101 Dalmatians. The students have settled into their first year of school very well and have already achieved so much.  I’m sure they will accomplish even more in the years to come.

3A have enjoyed a wonderful year of learning and play together. Thank you to all parents for your support and efforts throughout the year in getting your child to school and helping them to be their best!

What a fantastic year it has been in 3B Yellow! From exploring new sensations through sensory play, to having fun with swimming, dancing, and singing, our students have embraced every experience with excitement and joy. It has been a pleasure watching them build friendships, grow in confidence, and develop new skills. 

We are incredibly proud of each students’ progress and are grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey. Thank you for your partnership and trust in us. Wishing all our students and families a safe and happy Christmas break.
