From The Principal

As we come to the end of another school year, I want to take a moment to pause and reflect on what has been a big, busy and meaningful year for our Hamlyn Views community.
First and foremost, I want to acknowledge our students. Every day this year, they’ve shown us what’s possible — whether that’s learning new skills, building independence, finding their voice, managing big emotions, or simply turning up and giving things a go. Watching their confidence grow over time is a privilege we never take for granted.
This year has also been one of growth for our school. We will have eight new relocatable classrooms ready for Term 1, giving us much-needed space as our student and staff numbers continue to grow. We’ve also developed and begun implementing our new Senior Learning Program — an exciting step forward in strengthening pathways for our older students, with a strong focus on independence, wellbeing and life beyond school.
Across the school, we’ve continued to build more consistent teaching and learning practices, ensuring learning programs reflect both curriculum expectations and individual needs. We've invested in staff capability through professional learning, coaching and leadership development. In a specialist setting, this work takes time, but the foundations we’ve built this year are strong.
Our allied health and therapy teams continue to be a huge part of what makes Hamlyn Views special. The collaboration between teachers, education support staff and therapists is a real strength of our school and supports our students in ways that are personalised and meaningful.
Thank you to our families for your ongoing trust, support and partnership. It really does take a village, and working together is what helps our learners thrive.
And to our staff, thank you for the care, professionalism and commitment you show every day. We’re looking forward to welcoming back staff returning from leave next year, as well as welcoming new team members to our community.
As we head into the holidays, I hope our students and families enjoy a happy and safe break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back at the start of Term 1, refreshed and ready for another year of learning together.
