STAFFING UPDATE – 2026 ANNOUNCEMENTS
As we prepare for the 2026 school year, we are pleased to share several important staffing updates and new appointments across our school community.
APPOINTMENT OF ACTING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
It has been confirmed that Naomi Landmeter has been re-appointed as Acting Assistant Principal at Darnum Primary School for a further term (Term 1, 2026.) We wish her continued success in her new school community.
Following Naomi’s move, we are pleased to share that Meaghan Bartrop has been appointed as Acting Assistant Principal for Term 1, 2026. Meaghan will continue in her Disability Inclusion portfolio and will also take up the Portfolio of Mental Health in Primary Schools Leader (MHiPS) . We know she will serve our staff, students, and families with integrity and enthusiasm.
AKNOWLEDGING THE LEADERSHIP OF AERIN VENNARD
We also wish to acknowledge the significant contribution of Aerin Vennard, who has held the MHiPS role during Naomi’s absence. In this position, Aerin has:
- Introduced a Mentoring Program for students
- Laid important groundwork for the potential establishment of a co-located playgroup (more information to come in the new year)
- Supported families in navigating and engaging with third-party Allied Health Providers and professionals
- Ensured the ongoing leadership and continuity of the Respectful Relationships program
We sincerely thank Aerin for her stewardship of this role. With the appointment of an Assistant Principal, the MHiPS portfolio now returns to the Assistant Principal team as originally intended.
WELCOMING NEW STAFF IN 2026
We are excited to welcome two new teachers who will be joining our staff team next year:
Lidia Vincent, who will be joining us as Foundation Teacher, will be working one day per week in both Class 0WV (Room LA6) and Class 0PV (Room LA4), supporting our junior school teams. Lidia will be familiar to many in our school community, having previously been a valued member of our teaching team before leaving us to pursue a promotional position as Learning Specialist at Yallourn North Primary School. Since that time, Lidia has held a range of positions across the Government and Catholic sectors. We are delighted to welcome Lidia back to Trafalgar Primary School and look forward to the experience, insight and enthusiasm she will bring to our Foundation team.
- Liza Marino has been appointed as a Grade 2 teacher for 2026. Liza is a long-standing member of the Trafalgar community and a former Trafalgar Primary School student. She brings 15 years of classroom experience across both public and private settings, including recent work in Foundation/One with a strong emphasis on phonological awareness and systematic synthetic phonics. Please join us in welcoming Liza to Trafalgar Primary School for 2026.

Library Request
Thanks to everyone who has borrowed from the library this year. It has been great to see our students reading so many of the different books that we have in the library. The school has purchased some great new non-fiction books this year, which have been real favourites with the students. We are running a class competition for whichever class gets all their outstanding books returned first, so could we please ensure that all school library books are returned as soon as possible to help their class win this.
Happy holidays and keep on reading!
