STEM

Prep - This term, students will be focusing on Earth and space science; learning about the weather and how it affects our daily lives. This week, they learned how Indigenous Australians use seasons to know what foods will be available for them to eat at different times of the year. We compared our seasons of summer, autumn, winter and spring to the Kakadu seasons.
Years 1/2 - This term, students will be focusing on design technologies and learning to follow the engineering design process. The focus will be on turning ideas into solutions. This week, students continued to work on their paper house challenge. Whey they finished their house, we tested how strong it was by having our wolf (aka a hair dryer) try and blow it down.
Year 3 - This term, students will be focusing on design technologies and following the engineering design process to create suitable solutions to problems. This week, students started working on their first Tinkercad challenge - making a Name Tag which meets specific criteria of size and features.
Year 4 - This term, students will be focusing on design technologies and following the engineering design process to create suitable solutions to problems. This week, students started working on their first Tinkercad challenge - make a Letter which meets specific criteria of size and features.
Year 5 - This term, students will be focusing on design technologies and following the engineering design process to evaluate, refine and improve their solutions. This week, students started working on their first Tinkercad challenge - make a Letter which meets specific criteria of size and features.
Year 6 - This term, students will be focusing on design technologies and following the engineering design process to evaluate, refine and improve their solutions. This week, students started working on their first Tinkercad challenge - make a 6-sided Dice which meets specific criteria of size and features.
