Introducing The Writing Revolution in 2026 

In 2026, all RGLPS classes will be using The Writing Revolution (TWR) approach to support and strengthen student writing.

TWR uses a simple, clear, and highly structured method to help students become confident and organised writers. One key element of this approach is sentence expansion, where students learn to take short, basic sentences and add meaningful information—such as who, what, when, where, why, or how—to make their writing richer and more detailed. Through this process, students also build a stronger understanding of subject–verb agreement and learn to apply punctuation accurately.

Students will also use the Single Paragraph Outline (SPO), a planning tool that helps them organise their ideas by setting out a topic sentence, key details, and a concluding sentence. By building skills step-by-step—from stronger sentences to well-structured paragraphs—TWR ensures students feel supported and not overwhelmed.

This structured, consistent approach helps children express their ideas clearly, deepen their reading comprehension, and develop lasting confidence as writers.

Semester Two Reports

Teachers are currently finalising Semester Two Reports and cross checking all their data to ensure accuracy when assigning progression points (the dots). The reports will then move through several phases of proofreading and checking before being released to parents and carers on Wednesday 17th December. Please keep an eye out for a Compass announcement indicating when reports are available for viewing.
