Thank You Message to the Wollert Primary School Community
Dear Wollert PS Families,
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the families who participated in the Working Bee on Friday, November 28th. Your efforts in improving the school grounds are greatly appreciated. We are also grateful for the generous donations to the Foodbank Drive, which help support families during this time of year. These initiatives were both supported by our Parents and Friends Association. I also appreciate the families who participated in the last Family Time event, a soccer clinic. I hope the students had a great time!
Thank you for a wonderful year and for helping Wollert Primary School grow and thrive. As Team Wollert, we would like to express our gratitude to our parent and carer community for your support throughout the year in all aspects of the school and your child’s journey. Whether you attended whole school events, helped your child with home reading, or trusted our teachers to positively impact your child’s education, your involvement has been invaluable.
To our staff, thank you for creating positive learning environments for our students with your care and compassion. Your commitment each day to the students in your classrooms and the responsibility you take for their learning have been a joy to witness during my time at Wollert Primary School. There may be some tears on Wednesday as you say goodbye to the students for the final time in 2025.
As we near the end of the year, it is important to recognise the staff members who are departing our school or taking leave in 2026. We would also like to introduce the new staff members who will be joining us in the 2025 class structure, as outlined below.
We wish Elise Bartlett, Katya Gaiotto, Carmen Ec, Tori Smith, Madi Lee, Wanda Belmore, Jean Van Bourgondien, Olivia Martin, Jacqueline Beattie, Rachel Aquilina, Louise Ramsdell, and Ronald Anderson all the best in their retirement or in pursuing new opportunities. We extend our best wishes to Jordan Bayley for his leave from WPS in 2026.
Your commitment to our school over the years has made a significant impact on our community and the students.
In closing, as the holiday season begins, it’s a time for us to spend precious moments with our families and loved ones and to show gratitude for all that we have. I would like to wish everyone a safe and wonderful break. We look forward to 2026 and are eager to continue working with students, parents, and staff to pursue aspirations without limitations.
Lastly, thank you to every member of Team Wollert at Wollert Primary School.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2025. Thank you to all the students and families who attended last Thursday’s graduation ceremony at Wollert Primary School to celebrate their journey. We wish all graduates the best as they embark on their paths beyond our school gates. We also extend our gratitude to the staff who assisted with the event and helped make it a memorable evening, led by Claire Dyson. We look forward to celebrating our students during the Ring of Honour on Wednesday.
We are excited to announce a new initiative for 2026: Wollert Primary School will have student leadership positions. Our school captains for 2026, along with the rest of the student leadership team, have participated in an interview process where they presented their ideas on leadership to the staff. We cannot wait to see the positive impact they will collectively have in making Wollert Primary School a better place in 2026.
These leaders will also create posters to be displayed around the school, showcasing what their leadership will bring to Wollert Primary School at the start of 2026. They will receive their leadership badges at a Storytime event in early 2026, which they will wear with pride.

We are excited about our upcoming Joy concert, which will take place on the last day of school, Wednesday, December 17th, from 9:15am to 11:00am.
Please remember that the Joy concert is a wonderful opportunity for each child to perform, and there will be seating available for parents. To accommodate the large number of families attending and ensure access for everyone, we will have seating arranged for parents behind the students who will be seated.
If you prefer to stand, you may do so in the area behind the family seating. When the students are performing, we will work together as a community to reflect our school values.
Please note the following important dates for the upcoming school year:
- Grade 1-6 students will start school on Thursday, January 29th.
- Foundation students will begin on Monday, February 2nd, starting at 9:15am and concluding at 3:00pm on that day only.
Our school will hold curriculum days on Tuesday, January 27th, and Wednesday, January 28th, during which no students are required to attend school.
We are nearing the end of Semester Two, which means your students will receive another semester report. This report will be available on Compass on Tuesday, December 16th, at 5:00pm. It will provide indicators of your child's growth and achievements in the key learning areas covered throughout the semester. The end of year report is a great opportunity to celebrate all learning successes and reflect on the achievements of 2025. We encourage you to read the report with your child to share in their learning journey and discuss all the wonderful experiences from this year.
