Year 3/4

This week in Grade 3/4, students enjoyed a range of learning experiences across the curriculum. A highlight was our Civics and Citizenship incursion on Monday, where we explored the importance of democracy, laws, and fair rules in our communities. In English, we revisited adverbs and continued progressing through our synthetic phonics program.
In Writing, students are continuing to develop their skills in factual recounts, learning how to write an introduction, clearly sequence events and include key details.
In Maths, we kicked off a short but fun unit on 2D shapes, while in French, students practised politely asking to go to the toilet or for a drink—tricky vocabulary, but they’re rising to the challenge!
In RE, we began our new unit Seeing Through Jesus’ Eyes, starting with the story of Zacchaeus to explore Jesus as a saviour, teacher, and friend.
We’ve also celebrated a special milestone for some of our Year 3 students completing the Sacrament of Reconciliation—our thoughts and prayers are with you during this important time.
Finally, we wrapped up one of our class novels, Uncle Xbox, which had a surprise ending that had the whole class talking!
