F/1/2

Last week we took part in special multi-age activities for Reconciliation Week. Groups working in the F/1/2 collaborated together to create a beautiful painting of tree rings, representing 65,000 years of continuous living culture, and the strength of Australia’s First Nations people. Just like the rings in a tree show its many years of life, our artwork symbolised the long and continuous connection First Nations people have with this land.

We also had the chance to visit the Castlemaine Art Gallery to see Leslie Thornton’s exhibition Blockbuster. With our guide Sue, we looked closely at paintings of local buildings, landscapes and special places. It helped us think about the place we live and the importance of community. It was a wonderful week of learning, art and connection.
