Message from Leadership

Busy Bees Kinder visit
This week we were delighted to welcome the Busy Bees 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten children to St Mary’s for a special visit.
The kinder children had a wonderful time exploring our learning spaces and joining in hands-on Science and Music activities with Rachel Cheesman and Clare Grainger, supported beautifully by our Year 5/6 students who helped to run the sessions. Their leadership, care, and encouragement were truly commendable. Thank you to our teachers and senior students for organising this.
It was also heartwarming to see our students welcome the Busy Bees with open arms, playing with them during recess and helping them feel right at home.
Visits like these are a great way to begin building early connections with our community.
National Reconciliation Week
Last week our students engaged in activities to acknowledge National Reconciliation Week and rotated through their house colour groups.
At St Mary’s, we will continue to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Enrolments for Prep 2026 Now Open!
It’s that exciting time of year when we invite families to submit enrolment forms for children starting Prep in 2026.
Children must turn five years old by 30 April 2026 to be eligible to begin school next year.
To support our planning, we kindly ask that current St Mary’s families with a younger sibling starting school in 2026 return enrolment forms as soon as possible.
2026 enrolment packs are now available from the St Mary’s reception.
We also encourage our families to help spread the word! If you know of any friends, neighbours, or community members who are looking for a school for their child, please let them know about St Mary’s and encourage them to get in touch. Word of mouth continues to be one of our most powerful ways to grow our school community.
We look forward to welcoming our next group of Prep students into our warm and nurturing school community!
Student Arrival and Start Time Reminder
A reminder to all families that student arrival time begins at 8:30am, with classes commencing at 8:45am.
Please note that there is no teacher supervision before 8:30am, so we kindly ask that students are not dropped off earlier for their safety.
Additionally, being on time helps students to settle in, connect with their peers, and start the day calmly and confidently, setting them up for a successful day of learning.
Thank you for your support in ensuring a smooth and positive start to each school day.
Regards,
Anushka Vaz
