Principal Reflections

Dear Parents and Carers,

Catholic Schools Week

Next week, our Diocese, along with many others, celebrates Catholic Schools Week. This is an important time to pause and consider what makes our school so special. It highlights the strong faith and learning community that is St Edward's School. As a school, we strive toensure our students are safe, highly valued, and given the care and respect they need to thrive academically. Catholic Schools Week also presents an excellent opportunity for children to connect with their faith and showcase the outstanding education they receive at St Ed's.

On Wednesday 28th May, our School Captains and parents will join Mrs Sheridan and myself at the Catholic Schools Week Mass. This mass will be presided over by Bishop Peter Murphy at the Cathedral in Armidale.

Please note that this Monday 26th May is a Pupil Free Day.

Association of Catholic School Principals Conference

The Association of Catholic School Principals (ACSP) in NSW is dedicated to promoting Catholic Education through the strong voice of its Principals. This week, I'm attending the ACSP 2025 Conference, which promises to be an exceptional professional learning experience. With its inspiring theme, "Living Waters: Leading with Hope, Inspiring Faith Communities," I'm enjoying connecting with fellow leaders to share insights and draw inspiration from their stories of faith, learning, and well-being.

Winter Uniform

We advise parents that the official date for changeover from summer to winter uniform is after the June long weekend (Tuesday 10th June).  However, as the weather has started to turn a little cooler, we are now allowing students to wear either full winter (INCLUDING A TIE) or full summer uniform during this transition period. This, of course, applies to Tuesdays and Thursdays when the school uniform is worn. School uniform items are available for purchase via LOWES in Tamworth. Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring that your child attends school wearing the correct uniform.

Best wishes,

Alison Hatton
