Kiwat Kennell

Kiwat Kennell, a proud Eastern Torres Strait Islander descendant from the islands of Ugar and Erub, uses music to navigate the challenging realms of identity, racism, and mental health. Having collaborated with artists like Dan Sultan, Mo'Ju, and Joel Quartermain from Eskimo Joe, Kiwat's experiences deeply inform his music. Raised to respect law enforcement, he struggled to respect authority while confronting the harsh realities of systemic injustice. Drawing strength from childhood loss and ongoing mental health battles, he is joined on stage with his 8-piece band, to bring energy, life and hope to the world.
