Middle Park Primary School Strategic Plan 2025–2029 Update

Our school (Middle Park Primary School) is currently developing a new School Strategic Plan for 2025–2029, a key process undertaken by all state schools in collaboration with the Department of Education every four years. This follows the recent School Review, which provides critical insights that will shape the direction of our next strategic plan.

The upcoming plan will define our school’s vision and values and establish high-level Goals for the next four years. These will be supported by specific Targets and Key Improvement Strategies to help monitor our progress and ensure continual improvement.  

As part of the review, School Council members had the opportunity to engage deeply in the school’s operations, from observing teaching strategies in classrooms to analysing student performance data and wellbeing outcomes. We also evaluated how the school has performed against the 2020–2024 Strategic Plan.

Importantly, we ensured that the parent and carer voice was present and heard throughout this process. Thank you to everyone who completed the parent survey in Term 1 and to those who participated in the parent focus group. Your input has been invaluable. One of the strongest themes to emerge was the call for a stronger focus on academic excellence for all students. It was incredibly helpful to receive this feedback so clearly from our community.

This emphasis on academic excellence, along with a commitment to ongoing growth in literacy and numeracy, will be addressed in the new strategic plan. The school will share more details about how these priorities will be implemented once the plan is finalised, likely by the end of this term.

Being involved in the review process also gave us a rare window into the inner workings of the school. Through classroom observations and collaborative discussions with the leadership team and review panel, we reflected on both the barriers and enablers of student learning and wellbeing.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Tim, Sue, and the review panel for welcoming the parent perspective and for providing genuine opportunities to see “behind the scenes.” It’s easy to overlook the complexity and expertise that supports our children every day, and this process was a valuable reminder.
