Acting Principal

This week Kim Fitzpatrick, Natasha Saunders and I attended the Principal's Conference in Melbourne. It was a great opportunity to meet with fellow principal class, hear from keynote speakers and attend workshops presented by school staff about programs and initiatives in their schools.

It is with great pleasure that can announce we have provisionally appointed an experienced English teacher to the school; I will release their name soon. They have over 18 years' experience in education and in particular English including VCE. All going well they will commence on Monday 16th June. 

Lastly, I have a mix of emotions announcing this to the community, I have been provisionally appointed as Principal at Maryborough Education Centre at the start of Term 3. Whilst this is an exciting time for me in my career, it is also a little sad. In the very short time, I have been at Charlton I have grown very attached to the school, it's staff, students and parents. This is an amazing community, and I look forward to the last 5 weeks of term. During this time, I will continue the work I have undertaken and prepare a handover for the new Acting Principal. 

Assembly

At Monday’s assembly it was apparent that a bug has been going around, with only 15 students having been present for all of their classes this term. Let’s look after ourselves by maintaining good hygiene, eating, remaining hydrated and getting plenty of sleep. The lucky attendee for the first half of term was Ashton. 

SWPBS

Mid Term 2 prize for the Primary area went to Tom J and Sheena was the recipient from the Secondary area. As was said at assembly on Monday, continue to do the right things, as we need to boost the number of positive behaviours if we are to reach the 1500 target set at the beginning of term. 

Breaky Club

Breaky Clubbers are being well and truly spoilt! A big thank you to the Charlton OpShop who have donated some tablecloths, plates and nice cutting boards! Also, a special mention to Stella who help Danielle put the new breakfast club trolley together!
