Together We Can Appeal (Next Week)

Next week, from Tuesday 10th June to Friday 13th June, we’re inviting our Good Shepherd community (school, ELC and congregation) to support those in need by taking part in our Together We Can appeal.

We invite families to contribute by donating any of the following items:

Cereal

Tinned soup

Baked beans

Tinned spaghetti

2-minute noodles

Washing powder

Toothbrushes

Toothpaste

Soap

Or any long-life pantry item.

All donations must be sealed and in their original packaging. Students can bring items directly into their classrooms each morning. Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference. 

Let’s show the strength of our community spirit in serving others and help those in need.

School Oval Fungicide Application

As part of our ongoing care for the school grounds, Greene Eden will be returning next Wednesday, 11th June, to complete the second of two scheduled anti-fungal treatments. This safe, preventative spray helps reduce the occurrence of dollar-spot, fairy rings, and mushrooms growing in our school oval throughout the year.

The application will begin after 3:30pm and is carried out outside of school hours to ensure the safety of all students. While the treatment is not harmful, the junior playground and oval access areas will be clearly signed and closed from 3:30pm as a precaution. These areas will also be taped off to restrict access.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we maintain a safe and healthy environment for all.

Scholastic Book Club 

Scholastic Book Club Issue 4 catalogues have been sent home with students this week. 

Scholastic apps are available to download for both Apple and Android devices to make ordering through the Loop system easier.

There is the option to mark your purchases as GIFTS. When these books arrive, you will be contacted directly, rather than books going home with students.

Please also note that some titles offered, differ from the Christian ethos followed by the school. 

As cash orders are not accepted by the school, orders will need to be placed via LOOP by Thursday 12th June 2025.

New Christian Resource 

A new app called Zenos Kids for Christian kids and families has recently been launched! The app aims to bring children and families the best of Australian Christian children’s content to one safe, easy to navigate platform! Creators from around Australia have partnered with us to share videos, books, animation, music, podcasts, stories and devotions that all have the purpose of encouraging children and families to grow in their relationships with God and each other. New and exciting content will be added each month!

Anti-Bullying Rapid Review

The Australian Government recently announced an Anti-Bullying Rapid Review. The Review will look at current approaches to addressing bullying in schools, what is working and what needs strengthening, with the aim of providing options for the development of a consistent national standard for responding to bullying and its underlying causes in schools.

The Review is now accepting submissions. 

The Review co-chairs, Dr Charlotte Keating and Dr Jo Robinson AM, are seeking views from students, parents, teachers, and those involved in school education across the country. Submissions can be made anonymously if preferred.
