Proud Principal

I am proud because our students are active participants in their learning and school life.
The two SACSA Soccer teams were announced earlier this week - chatting to Mr Wain and Mr Rowe there were 30 students across stage 4 are participating
There are nearly 60 students who have music lessons in addition to their learning here at school and I have no doubt more who take these lessons away from school.
Lunch time clubs including colouring, chess, and games clubs are popular points of participation across the week.
While we see the singers, JAG and SWAG teams (Junior Action Group and Senior Worship Action Group) up on the stage each week, there are also a number of senior students helping with the sound and projection.
As I wander through learning spaces, I am excited to see the active and attentive learning that is happening across the school.
I am proud because I get to see passionate educators supporting your children in their learning.
I am proud because the children are taking opportunities to learn and participate in many ways across the school.
I am proud because we can celebrate these things together.
Congratulations for the end of study
At the beginning of the week, I joined Lena Kokot (Stage 4), Jared Grierson (Teaching and Learning Leader) and Jasmyn Nicholls (Director Curiosity) to celebrate the learning done as part of their Graduate Certificate in Business Leadership through QUT. Over the past 2 years these three leaders, while working, have been toiling away at readings and assignments as part of the Leadership Development Program through the Lutheran Education Australia (LEA).
On Monday the 2nd June we celebrated their growth and achievement - hearing about their final project and some reflection around The Leadership Circle (TLC) tool. It was a privilege to hear and share about the impact that they have made within our community and in their growth as leaders.
Dr Lisa Schmidt, Executive Director of LEA, was there to present the 'Graduates' with a gift ... parchments and gowns still to come.
Who can you encourage or tell that you are proud of today?
1 Thessalonians 5:11 - "Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing."
Installation of Pastor Michael Dutschke
Pastor Michael will be installed into the Good Shepherd Community on Sunday the 29th June at 2pm. While there is no expectation for your attendance - I invite you to attend.
Illness
The colder weather has bought with it a raft of illnesses which have impacted both on the student population but also the teaching staff. We are working hard at trying to provide consistency for the children throughout the school with relief staff that they know and who know them, but this does not always happen.
