Year 3 & 4 Highlights

Year 3: Puppet Shows

As part of our Design & Technology unit, students worked in teams to design and create puppets, culminating in the performance of their own puppet shows. To succeed, students had to share ideas, listen to one another, and collaborate effectively.

This teamwork not only brought their stories to life but also helped them develop valuable life skills such as communication, cooperation, and creative problem-solving.

Year 4: Exploring Sustainability at CERES

Our Year 4 students recently visited CERES Community Environment Park for an exciting and educational excursion focused on waste and sustainability. Throughout the day, students engaged in a range of hands-on activities that deepened their understanding of how everyday actions can impact the environment.

They learned about the important role of worm farms in reducing food waste and improving soil health,  and even got to see the worms up close! Students also had the opportunity to make their own recycled paper, discovering how materials can be reused rather than thrown away. A highlight of the day was a guided walking trail where students visited a waste trap in a nearby river and saw how rubbish from stormwater is collected before it reaches the ocean.

It was a fun and eye-opening experience that encouraged us all to think more carefully about how we can reduce, reuse and recycle to protect our planet.
