From the Principal

Dear Parents,
Welcome back for Term 3! It's been great to have students back at school and rooms have been buzzing with excitement and energy as classes start the second half of the year.
NAPLAN Results Available
Our Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN results have arrived. NAPLAN is a national literacy and numeracy assessment undertaken by students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It is the only national assessment that all Australian children undertake.
NAPLAN tests are only one aspect of our assessment and reporting process. Given they are only every two years for students, it does not replace our local extensive ongoing assessments.
Families of Year 3 and Year 5 students can expect their child's results to be sent home in coming days. Each report comes with an Information Sheet. The default language is in English but should you require another language please let our office know and we will endeavour to provide you with the version for the language you desire.
Collingwood AFL Players Visit
On Tuesday we had a visit from seven AFL players from Collingwood Football Club. Many students (and staff!!!) were very excitied to have the opportunity to meet and hear from the players. The players shared about their experience of being elite athletes and about what it takes to perform at that level. Our students had the opportuinity to ask questions as well as obtain some autographs and have photos take. Below is Charlotte's account of the visit.
Charlotte's Report
Josh Daicos, Isaac Quaynor, Roan Steele, Joel Cochran, IIiro Smit, Dan McStay and Charlie Dean
You may have heard of some of these people…Well, they are some of AFLs Collingwood players…AND they came to visit US.
On Tuesday the 22nd of July (first day back for term three) we had some special guests come to our school for a meet and greet, and question and answer (Q&A).
We got to ask them several questions about what it’s like being a professional athlete, how they cope being a professional athlete and their experiences on and off the field!
They all answered our questions and we got a really good insight as to what it’s like to be an athlete and compete in football.
The Collingwood fans - Mrs G, Mrs Korporaal, William and Ivy were very excited to meet the players.
Each class from 3-6 got a photo of the players and their signatures.
Overall it was very exciting and inspiring.
