Deputy Principal's Report

Welcome Back for Term 3!
Welcome back to all our students, staff and families for what promises to be a wonderful Term 3 at St Finbar’s! We hope the holidays provided time to rest, recharge and enjoy special moments with loved ones. It has been heartwarming to see the smiles, energy and enthusiasm as students return to their classrooms and reconnect with friends and teachers.
A very special welcome to the newest members of our St Finbar’s community: Lucas (Prep), Kesha (1C), Elijah (4D), Ezekiel (1L), Hamish (3F), Grace (2M), Riansh (1L) and Aria (2F). We are so pleased to have you join us and know that you will be warmly welcomed and supported as you settle into your new school.
We look forward to another term filled with exciting learning, personal growth, and joyful moments together. Let’s make Term 3 a great one!
Parent Information Night
Thank you to all the families who attended our Information Night late last term with David
from Toolbox Psychology Clinic. It was a valuable session where David shared practical strategies to help support our children in regulating their emotions and understanding what it means to 'flip their lid'. Toolbox is a local psychology clinic based on Centre Road in Bentleigh and has regular availability for both children and adults. We’re grateful for their partnership in supporting the wellbeing of our students and families. If you wish to make contact with the team at Toolbox, please access their website here.
Excellence – The St Finbar’s Way
Celebrating Students Who Strive to Be Their Best
We are thrilled to celebrate the recent success of one of our outstanding Year 4 students, Brooklyn, who has demonstrated incredible dedication, perseverance and skill on the tennis court. Brooklyn recently competed in a local tennis tournament and came away with a well-deserved victory!
Her commitment to training and passion for the sport has not gone unnoticed, and her success is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through hard work and determination. Brooklyn’s achievement brings pride to the St Finbar’s community, and we look forward to watching her continue to grow and shine both on and off the court.
Congratulations, Brooklyn – we are so proud of you!
Joyful Learning in Prep–2
It has been a delight to witness the vibrant and engaging learning happening across our Prep to Year 2 classrooms since returning on Monday. From hands-on Maths investigations to imaginative writing, creative art projects, and exciting discoveries in Science, our youngest learners are thriving in rich, supportive environments that nurture curiosity and a love of learning.
The images featured here capture just a snapshot of the energy, focus and enthusiasm that fills our junior classrooms each day. Our dedicated teachers are continually providing opportunities for students to explore, collaborate and grow – laying strong foundations for future success.
Well done to our Prep–2 students and staff for the joyful learning experiences you create and share each day!
Have a great week - May God Bless
