Uniform Feedback

You would have read in a recent Bulletin that we are going to be seeking parent feedback as a part of our uniform review this year. Here is a link to an online form designed for parents to offer their feedback. Thank you to those parents who have already emailed the school.

Library News

Term Three is a super exciting time in the Library at GSG!

Children’s Book Week | 18 to 22 August 2025

In 2025, we celebrate 80 years of celebrating the joy of reading through Book Week and the activities that children everywhere in Australia partake in.

We will be celebrating Book Week in Week Five at GSG and the library staff are eagerly planning some fun activities for our students. This year’s theme is 'Book an Adventure'! Who does not love an adventure? The students are excited about this theme.

We will have a Whole School dress-up day on Tuesday 19 August with a Primary School parade in the Multi-Purpose Sport Complex beginning at 9.00am. All parents and caregivers are warmly welcomed to attend.

Book Fair

In conjunction with Book Week, we will also be running a Book Fair starting on Tuesday 12 August, through to Thursday 21 August. This will be a Scholastic Book Fair and as a result of hosting this fair we will not be sending Scholastic book orders home this term.

Yours in reading.

Ms Elinor Couper | Head of Library Services / Teacher

P&F Events

Save the Date – Kingfisher Fair & Open Day!

We are excited to announce that this year’s Kingfisher Fair will be held on Sunday 14 September from 11.00am to 3.00pm and for the first time, we are combining it with an Open Day!

It promises to be a fantastic community event, so please mark your calendars.

Next week, we'll update you on ways to become involved. In this re-imagined event, parents are no longer required to design, donate to and run a class stall, as the focus is now on friend-raising and community engagement over fundraising. But, perhaps you could:

  • volunteer to bake sweet treats for the Tea House
  • volunteer to organise the famous Pet Parade
  • join a group of general volunteers to manage the fun activities we have planned
  • oversee the carriage rides
  • donate goods to the Market Stall

Older Person Mental Health First Aid

Thursday 28 August and Friday 29 August

The Older Person Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants who work with, care for or support adults aged 65+ how to provide initial support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in older adults, how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem, and the treatments and supports available.

Using a practical, evidence-based action plan, course participants learn how to approach someone they are concerned about and initiate a conversation about those concerns. Participants also learn how to offer initial support and information and how to encourage the person to seek professional help or other supports.

Adults who complete the course become Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders), equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to provide someone with mental health information and support when it matters most.

This course is recognised by Suicide Prevention Australia as a safe, high-quality and effective suicide prevention program. Learn more.

Please contact sheryl.moncur@gsg.wa.edu.au for further information.
