From the Deputy Principal

Welcome to Chaplain Levi

This term we welcome our new chaplain to Great Southern Grammar, Levi Cosh. Chaplain Levi comes to us from YouthCARE and we are also very fortunate that Levi is one of our GSG alumni, so he brings a great perspective as a boarding student.

We chatted with Levi at a recent staff meeting and this week’s Chapel service to get to know him better and gain a sense of his vision for chaplaincy at GSG. Levi’s role will be centred around the pastoral care of students and staff. He will work with our Pastoral Care Team, such as Heads of School, Heads of House, our School Councillor and our Director of Student Development. He will be there to listen if students are struggling, helping them get to a better place mentally and emotionally, so they can return to their classroom in a better place. Similarly, if a staff member is struggling, he will be there as an avenue for discussion and reflection. It is clear when speaking with Levi that he is keen to walk alongside students on their journey. Whilst he will be there to conduct formal chapel services, he will do some of his most important work when he is off the stage, walking with students at break times or interacting with them around the campus or in Boarding.

Levi is keen to get involved in cocurricular programs at the school, such as the upcoming AFL carnival for Years Nine and Ten students, or on school excursions as a way of building rapport with students and staff. In essence, Levi is here to help build a more connected community.

A great strength of our school is our sense of compassion, care and community. We aspire to be a place where every student feels seen and heard. The same is the case for staff and for parents.

Uniform Feedback

You would have read in a recent Bulletin that we are going to be seeking parent feedback as part of our uniform review this year. Here is a link to an online form designed for parents to offer their feedback. Thank you to those parents who have already emailed the school.
