As we continue the QGSSSA Winter Fixtures season, we remind all student-athletes of the expectations surrounding attendance, conduct, and uniform standards.
All students selected for a Club or QGSSSA representative team are required to attend training sessions and scheduled fixtures. If a student is unable to attend for a legitimate reason, it is essential that this is communicated to both the relevant Sport Coordinator and the Clayfield College Sport Department as early as possible.
To excel as a student-athlete at Clayfield College is to uphold the values of our community both on and off the field. Students are expected to take pride in their personal appearance, behaviour, and uniform at all times, as they are representing the College.
Students must arrive and depart in the full Clayfield College sports uniform, appropriate to their sport.
For cooler weather, the following additional uniform items are permitted:
Please note:
Your cooperation helps maintain the high standard and reputation of Clayfield College Sport.
Thank you for your commitment and pride in representing our college.
Clayfield’s Stars Shine on the National Stage
The air was thick with chalk dust and anticipation at the recent Australian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, where the nation’s most talented gymnasts converged to showcase their strength, grace, and grit. Among them, three Clayfield College athletes; Christina Anictomatis, Iara Chaves, and Isla Cullen delivered performances that will echo well beyond their national campaign.
Christina Anictomatis dazzled in the Developing International division, earning silver in the Team All-Around and a brilliant silver on the beam in the 16 plus category. Her beam routine was a study in control and precision with every leap, turn, and balance radiating calm confidence.
Iara Chaves, competing in Level 10 (15 to 16 years), was the embodiment of artistry and athleticism. She led her team to a gold medal in the Level 10 Team All-Around, claimed silver in the All-Around, and added another silver on the beam to her medal haul. Her performance earned her the prestigious Artistry Award. A testament to the way she blended technical mastery with an undeniable stage presence that captivated the judges.
Not to be outshone, Isla Cullen made her mark in the Level 8 Open category, helping her team to gold in the Team All-Around. Individually, Isla was superb, taking silver on beam in the 13 to 14 age division and bronze on the uneven bars with clean lines and impeccable form.
Between them, Christina, Iara, and Isla brought home an impressive seven medals, a powerful reflection of Clayfield College’s proud tradition in artistic gymnastics. These young athletes have not only set a benchmark for future competitors but have also shown what’s possible when skill meets passion on the national stage.
Congratulations Ladies!
Cross country running isn’t just about endurance. It’s about heart, resilience, and the ability to conquer whatever the course throws at you. Few embody that better than Grace Hunter, whose 2025 season has been nothing short of spectacular.
At the Queensland Athletics State Cross Country Championships in Toogoolawah, Grace surged across the line for second place, carving her name into the elite of the state’s endurance runners. But it was at the Queensland Schools State Cross Country Championships at Nudgee College where she truly stamped her authority, claiming first place with a commanding run that left no doubt she was the athlete to beat.
Grace’s performances have earned her the rare honour of dual national selection. She will represent Queensland at both the Australian Athletics National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat and the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships at Runaway Bay.
For Grace, it’s not just about medals or times. It’s about a relentless pursuit of excellence, the quiet km’s on training runs, and the ability to dig deep when the finish line seems far away. As she prepares for the national stage, there’s little doubt that she will continue to inspire, lead, and push the limits of what’s possible.
Congratulations Grace!
