Campbell House Fundraiser

As we know, Campbell House love their blue, and particularly, their blue jeans! Campbell House is proudly supporting our College Fundraiser for Jeans for Genes Day, on Friday 1 August. All Primary and Secondary students can come to school dressed in appropriate denim attire. Every dollar we donate goes directly to the Children’s Medical Research Institute and helps them find treatments and cures for children’s genetic diseases.

1 in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease and kids just want to be kids, but instead of playing sports with their friends or catching butterflies on a sunny day, kids with genetic diseases are getting liver transplants, taking dozens of medications, or getting their next dose of chemotherapy. It shouldn’t be this way. By donating through Jeans for Genes, you can help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, so these kids can go back to being kids.

Grandparents' Day

We invite grandparents to join our Pre-Prep to Year 6 students for a delightful morning of celebration.

Circular Drive Guidelines

During the Circular Drive drop-off and pick-up process, the safety of our students and staff is critical and therefore we request you consider the following:

Morning Drop-off

  • Be Ready Before You Arrive: Have school bags packed and ready to assist with prompt exit from vehicle.
  • Keep It Moving: Continue to drive forward to the furthest available bay.
  • Drop, Kiss & Go: Give a quick hug/kiss and let your child exit the vehicle promptly. This keeps the line moving and reduces wait times for everyone.
  • No Parking in Circular Drive: If you need extra time or want to walk your child in, please park in the surrounding streets. Parking is not permitted in Circular Drive before 9:00am.
  • Exiting Circular Drive: As signed, left turn only when exiting Circular Drive on to Gregory Street.
  • Stay Safe: Drive slowly and watch for students, staff, and other vehicles at all times.

Afternoon Pick-up

At the conclusion of the day, staff will bring students down to Circular Drive from 3:05pm (Prep to Year 2) and 3:15pm (Years 3 to 6). Pre-Prep students can be collected from their classroom between 2:30pm and 3:00pm. Students in Years 5 to 6 may be collected at Circular Drive if they have younger siblings. Otherwise, they may be collected from Bayview Terrace. Students in Year 4 may be collected from Bayview Terrace if they have an older sibling. If you are collecting your child in Years 3 to 6, please do not come to Circular Drive before 3:15pm as they will not be there, and you will be asked to circle the block to keep the line moving.

To assist us with the efficiency of Circular Drive pickup in the afternoon, we respectfully request the following:

  • Follow the direction of staff
  • Continue to drive forward to the furthest available bay.
  • Remain in your car until your child has been sent to you.  Do not leave your car at any time whilst you are in the Circular Car Line. There have been instances where cars have rolled whilst children are walking to their cars.
  • If you are using this service, students must be independent in buckling their seat belts, without your assistance. The staff on duty will help any child into the car if needed. If you are eager for your child to use this facility, the buckling of the seat belt is a wonderful teaching moment.
  • If your child has not yet arrived for collection, you must drive around the block to re-enter the Circular Drive queue.
  • As signed, left turn only when exiting Circular Drive on to Gregory Street.
  • Drive slowly and watch for students, staff, and other vehicles at all times.

Thank you for helping us keep morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up safe, efficient, and stress-free for all our students and families!

Christian Education in Lower Primary

In keeping with Faith Week, we take a moment to spotlight Christian Education in the lower Primary School. The focus of lessons and Chapel services is on what the Bible has to say about God’s love, and his big plans and purposes for his people and the world.

Our Prep students follow the 'Beginning with God' curriculum and experience the Bible and its key concepts through stories, videos, songs and weekly craft activities which they take home to share with their families. Years 1 to 5 students build on this foundation through 'Connect', a 3-year curriculum presented at three different levels, covering the whole sweep of the biblical story and showing how it relates to life today. Stories, Bible readings, videos, songs, dance, role play, drawing and voice recordings all add to the learning experience in helping our students begin to understand spiritual concepts.

Combined Junior Music Festival

On Tuesday 12 August, Primary students from Corelli Strings, Campo delle Voci, and Wind Orchestra will join musicians from Somerville House and Brisbane Boys’ College for the 2025 Combined Junior Music Festival. Throughout the day, students will participate in workshops, rehearse combined repertoire, and perform for one another in a collaborative and enriching musical experience.

Further details and the dietary form for the complimentary lunch are available on the College App (please select Corelli Strings, Campo delle Voci, or Wind Orchestra under the Culture section).

Buddy Program

The Buddy Program at Clayfield College is a wonderful opportunity to foster cross-grade connections. These fortnightly sessions encourage older students to take on greater responsibility whilst improving their communication and mentoring skills. By guiding and supporting younger peers, they build confidence and learn how to be positive role models.

Not only does it promote personal growth; it also strengthens the school community through friendship and collaboration. Throughout the coming weeks, the Year 6 students are going to be designing and running gross motor and science rotation activities for their pre-prep buddies. These connections are invaluable and help make Clayfield a place to belong.
