As part of Public Education Week 2025, we invite all families to join us for our Education Week Open Day on Wednesday 6 August. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school community and celebrate the strength, diversity and achievements of NSW public education.
This year’s theme, Ignite Your Potential, reminds us of the important role public schools play in supporting every student to learn, grow and thrive. Open Day is also a chance to recognise the commitment of our staff, the efforts of our high potential and gifted learners, and the achievements of students across all year levels. We look forward to welcoming you into classrooms and celebrating everything that makes Chatswood Public School such a vibrant place to learn.
Last term, we were pleased to launch SchoolTV as part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and parent engagement. Thank you to the many families who attended the sessions and completed our follow-up survey. Your feedback has been incredibly helpful in shaping how we use this resource across the school community.
The survey results showed that most parents prefer to engage with SchoolTV by watching short videos at home in their own time. There was also interest in occasional in-person sessions, short articles, and podcast-style formats for busy families. Fortnightly updates were the most popular choice for receiving content, and families told us they’d like to hear about new topics through both the school newsletter and direct email.
Based on this feedback, we’ll be including a dedicated SchoolTV section in our newsletter each week to highlight new or relevant topics, with a short summary and a direct link. We’re also finalising dates for some in-person parent sessions later this term, where families will have the chance to connect and follow up with staff on key wellbeing topics.
To support classroom and whole-school conversations, short and age-appropriate clips from selected SchoolTV topics will be shared during Stage 2 and Stage 3 assemblies this term. When these clips are shown, we’ll include a note in the newsletter so parents can follow up at home by watching the clip together or having a discussion to reinforce the message.
We’re also pleased to share that all SchoolTV videos can now be translated into Mandarin, Arabic and Hindi, making it even more accessible for our diverse community. This is a fantastic resource to explore with your family or share with others who may benefit
SchoolTV can be accessed anytime through our school website or directly via this link:

We look forward to continuing to grow this partnership with families and using SchoolTV to support the learning and wellbeing of all students.
Congratulations to our Kindergarten students who celebrated 100 days of school this week. It was great to see their excitement and a few clever costumes that made some of them look like they’ve been at school a little longer than they have. Well done to our youngest learners on a great start to their school journey.
School Tours provide families with an opportunity to see the school in action and hear about the wide range of opportunities available to our students.
