Bullying Prevention and Education

At Skye Primary School, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for every student. As part of our whole-school approach to bullying prevention, we’re starting with something simple but powerful—building a shared understanding of what bullying is, and what it isn’t. When we all begin with the same information, we can work together more effectively to support students and respond appropriately when concerns arise.

What bullying is and what it isn't

In simpliest form, Bullying is repeated, deliberate behaviour intended to cause harm, where there is a real or perceived power imbalance. It is not a single incident, a disagreement, or a one-off act of unkindness.

Next week, families will receive a short 5-minute survey asking for your insights and experiences related to bullying at our school. Your feedback is a valuable part of shaping how we continue to improve student wellbeing and safety.

In the coming weeks, newsletter updates will cover our bullying prevention programs, help-seeking strategies, how students can be upstanders, and how the school responds to bullying concerns.
