Walkathon – Sunday 10 August - Volunteers

A huge thank you to everyone who has signed up for a volunteer role for the Walkathon, and especially to the course guide volunteers. With less than two weeks to go, there are several roles remaining to fill. Please take a look in the Signup for anything you might be able to assist with for the vast number of MCA based roles.  It would be good to get these roles mostly filled by Friday 1 August:

  • 1 x Ticketing Co-ordinator and 1 x Vendor Coordinator: 7:00am-12:00pm Sunday in a roaming capacity. On hand to answer questions and keep things in motion where required to assist. All going well it could be a very boring day of watching the passing parade.
  • Canteen, BBQ and coffee service 10:00am-11:00am: Peak hour for food service. Whether new to canteens or a master of chip service this is a great opportunity to work alongside an experienced crew feeding a grandstand full of hungry people. Very satisfying!
  • Canteen, BBQ and coffee service 11am-12pm: Still plenty of people to serve while the Battle of the Bands concludes and families start heading home.

Walkathon – Logo Competition - New closing date of Friday 8 August

Students in Years 5-12 are invited to design a new logo for the Walkathon. The winning entry will be used to promote the 2026 Walkathon, and receive a $50 tuckshop voucher. All entrants will receive an MCA stress ball, and shortlisted entries will also receive a sports ball.

Revised dates:

  • Send your entries to PresidentPandF@marash.qld.edu.au by 5pm Friday 8 August.
  • The winning entry will be announced at Assembly on 20 August.

Logo Design Submission Terms and Conditions:

All logo submissions will be reviewed and approved at the sole discretion of the P&F Executive Committee. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or use of the design.

To be considered, designs must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Originality: All designs must be original and created by the student submitting the entry.
  • Appropriateness: Submissions must be appropriate for our school community.
  • Relevance: Designs should reflect the values, spirit, and identity of our school community with appropriate use of the College colours.
  • Format: All entries must be submitted in a digital format (PDF, PNG, or JPEG) 1080 x 1080 by the deadline provided.
  • Usage Rights: By submitting a design, students agree to grant the P&F Executive full rights to use, modify, and reproduce the logo for school-related purposes without further permission or compensation.

Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will not be eligible for any level of prize, including stress balls and sports balls.

The P&F Executive reserves the right to make final decisions on the use of any design, including modifications or combining elements from multiple submissions.

We appreciate your creativity and enthusiasm, and we look forward to seeing your ideas.

Sports Canteen – Saturday 2 August

Please sign up for an hour behind the canteen if you have a game at MCA this Saturday. Just one hour per term if you have a son playing sport is all it takes to keep the food and refreshments flowing for our MCA and AIC families. Many thanks
