Student Voice :                         Springvale  Campus

Welcome to Term 3 Week 3! This term is shaping up to be both exciting and busy, with plenty of fun activities ahead! We’re looking forward to the whole school swimming program, celebrating Book Week, and the SLC participating in Summer Sports. We’re sure there will be many more exciting excursions and events coming up for all learning centres. It’s going to be a fantastic term of learning and fun!

In Week 11 of Term 2, students had the opportunity to take the lead and share their learning during our Parent-Teacher Interviews. We proudly spoke about our progress in reading, writing, and mathematics, reflected on the goals we've been working towards, and shared what we’re excited to learn next. Each of us brought in a piece of work we were especially proud of, using our own voice to celebrate our achievements and growth. It was a great moment for students to step up as confident communicators, reflective learners, and active participants in our learning journey. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to listen and support us.

We’ve been doing such a fantastic job across the school that we have had some special visitors from the Department of Education. They have seen amazing things, such as how well we have been demonstrating our school values and how our SWPBS Token system works! This has been a great opportunity to show them what makes our school so awesome, admirable, and inspiring!

A big congratulations to the AFL team from the Springvale Campus for making it to the District finals! Although they didn’t come away with the win, they displayed excellent sportsmanship and did an outstanding job representing our school with pride. Well done, team! We will be sending our Netball team off to District tomorrow, and we are sure that they will represent our school with pride, no matter what the outcome is!

Last week, we celebrated Principal’s Day, a special occasion to recognise and thank our spectacular principal, Assistant Principal and Acting Assistant Principal for their dedication, hard work, and the positive impact they have on our school community. As part of the celebrations, we created cards and speeches that not only shared our gratitude but were also linked to our writing focus on using adjectives and descriptive language. We worked hard to paint vivid pictures in our readers minds by using adjectives and figurative language. Judging by the big smiles on their faces, we think we were successful! Our principals support us every day in our learning and wellbeing, and it was great to show our appreciation with cards, speeches, and big smiles!

Term 3 is already off to a fantastic start, with plenty of exciting activities. The whole school swimming program will run over two weeks from August 11th to 14th, and again from August 16th to 21st, giving all students a great chance to build skills and confidence in the water. We’re also looking forward to celebrating Book Week and seeing the SLC take part in Summer Sports. With even more excursions and events still to come, it’s shaping up to be a term full of learning, laughter, and memorable moments across all our learning centres.
