Ms Stephanie Mee - Deputy Principal Year 7 & 12
I recently had the privilege of accompanying a number of our Year 10 students into the city to attend this year's Girls In Property event. The aim of this program is to raise awareness of the range of career paths the property industry has to offer, allowing students to learn about various career opportunities, hear from property experts and make valuable connections.
The aim of the initiative is to encourage more young women to choose a career in property by showing them the full range of options that are available and how rewarding working in this industry can be.
Students who attended had a wonderful time and learnt so much about the industry. This is an annual event and I look forward to taking more students along next year.
The Gap State High School has been selected to participate in the 2025 PISA testing. PISA is an international test that assesses students’ skills and knowledge in reading, mathematics, science and Learning in the Digital World, providing both a national and international perspective.
The results of PISA provide information towards monitoring how well young Australians are meeting important educational goals, assists in identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses in the Australian education system, allows the comparison of student performance with other countries, and enables policymakers, researchers and teachers to learn from other education systems around the world.
There are over 90 countries/economies participating in this year’s PISA testing, with the majority of countries/economies having already completed their testing. In Australia, approximately 780 schools will be participating in PISA 2025. This year, selected students from The Gap SHS will be partaking in this international testing. Communication with these families have been sent via email with details of the logistics of testing day. We wish the selected students all the best for testing day, Monday 1 September 2025.
