Primary Year 3-6

Welcome to Term 3! We hope you and your family had a restful and enjoyable break. We are excited to begin a new school term full of learning, growth, and new opportunities.

🔎I Spy… Hollie Kasch and Charlie Gloster (Year 4) and Jack Lomax and Eli Bertram (Year 6) were spotted displaying the PBL focus Represent the College with Pride and were the winners of our fortnightly canteen voucher.

Our PBL focus for the next two weeks is Be the Best Version of Myself. Teachers will be looking out for students who consistently make good choices both in the classroom and out in the yard.

🌟Year 3/4 Science🌟

Last term, our Year 3/4 students embraced the challenge of designing and building their very own marble run games using recycled materials such as cardboard tubing, popsicle sticks and bottle tops.

The objective was to create a controlled descent of a marble from the top to the bottom of a vertical board, applying their knowledge of physics to demonstrate key concepts like gravity, force, motion, and the push/pull effect. But it wasn’t just about function, it was about flair. Each marble run had to be visually engaging, with students tasked to style their creation like a ride at a show. From bold designs to inventive structures, every project featured a unique name and theme to entice their audience.

The final games were not only impressive in their construction but also in their creativity, and on the last day of term, the Foundation students were invited to test them out. It was a wonderful way to celebrate hands-on learning and finish the term with some shared fun!
