Principals' Report

Dear Families,

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of our former principal, Mr Tim Noonan, on Saturday 19th July, 2025.

Mr Noonan served as principal of St Patrick’s for nine years, until August 2023, and made an extraordinary impact on the life of our school. His leadership,  and unwavering commitment to the learning and wellbeing of every child left a lasting legacy that continues to shape our community today.

After his time at St Patrick’s, Mr Noonan took up a role with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), where he continued to serve Catholic education with passion, dedication, and integrity.

Mr Noonan faced his recent illness with immense bravery, grace, and the tenacity that so many of us came to admire in him. His strength during this time was a true reflection of the character we knew so well—compassionate, determined, and full of hope.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Anne, and their two children, Melanie and Ben. We extend our heartfelt condolences and ongoing prayers to his family during this difficult time. We know the entire St Patrick’s community joins in mourning this loss and giving thanks for Mr Noonan’s life and the profound difference he made.

As we continue to navigate the grief of losing another deeply valued staff member, we remain committed to the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of every student and family. Children may respond to this news in various ways depending on their age, level of understanding, and past experiences with loss. Gentle reassurance, open conversations, and a listening ear are important at this time. Our staff are here to support your child, and I encourage you to reach out if you have any concerns about how they are coping. Resources have been attached to assist you in having supportive conversations at home.

Following the Mass, Tim will be laid to rest at:

As we come together and draw strength from our loving God, we ask that His grace be with the Noonan family and with our St Patrick’s family in this time of sorrow.

May Mr Noonan rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the love and support of the community he served so faithfully.

With deepest sympathy,

Pat Berlingeri
