This week, MCHF staff engaged in 2.5 hours of professional learning with educational consultant Mark O’Connor, focusing on the power of explicit teaching. The session explored evidence-based strategies that support students in developing strong foundations of knowledge and skills, while ensuring high levels of engagement and clarity in the classroom. Staff were provided with practical tools and techniques to refine lesson delivery, structure learning sequences effectively, and provide purposeful feedback to maximise student growth.

In H Block, we've launched an exciting new reward system to encourage and celebrate positive playground behaviour. Students who consistently follow the playground rules earn ticks throughout the week. The student with the most ticks is rewarded with a special activity session in the games room with Ms. Abir!
In Week 1 of Term 3, Kindy White was the very first class to enjoy this special treat. They had an absolute blast playing with a variety of slimes, mixing in different textures and materials to make the experience even more fun and engaging.
Take a look below to see all the slime-filled fun Kindy White had! We can't wait to find out which class will be the next winner!

Dr Sarah Nakhel addressed students at the Academic Assembly. Afterwards, there was a small reunion of her 1999 graduating class, many of them parents at the school!
Despite the torrential rain, the MCHF Drummers and Dabke group gave an outstanding performance at the OLOL Souk! Our students were thrilled to take part in the celebrations during our feast week. Each performer showed remarkable enthusiasm and pride as they shared our cultural traditions with the parish community.
Thanks to Snapix for the great photos.

Thank you to our amazing Parent Volunteers for their assistance in our Mother's Day stall. The students all left happy, and it was all thanks to dedicated parents who took the time to help put those smiles on the kids' faces. The raffle was drawn by Mr. Asmar, winners were handed their prizes. Mother’s Day mass & morning tea was also held by the school, and it was a joyful day. The PA Executive team presented our lovely MSHF with a small token for Mother’s Day in Primary Hall.
We also want to thank all the parents for their assistance in the Biggest Morning Tea, and to the parents who gave their children money to spend on the day to support this event. This day would not have been perfect without your generous help and donations. Your support has made a huge impact. The PA Bake stall and flower wall raised $2281.00, which was donated to the Cancer Council Australia
Events that the PA will be involved in this term:
