Welcome back to Ivanhoe Primary School for the start of term 3.
It has been delightful to see our students back and their excited chatter as regale their friends with their holiday stories.
The week started with a lively assembly, where our Semester 2 Environmental Leaders proudly received their badges. Next week the Junior School Councilllors and Ride to School Leaders will be presented with their badges.
Families would have received their children's reports on the last day of term and will get chance to discuss their child's learning with the classroom teachers during parent teacher conferences on Wednesday 6th August. Look out for the conference bookings opening on Compass on Monday 28th July and an email explaining how to book.
Get your space suits ready, it's time to dust off those dancing shoes because the much-anticipated 2025 student disco is will be happening tomorrow! This year’s theme is Space Explorers: Journey to the Stars!
All our PFA volunteers put in a lot of effort to give the students a great night, and everyone attending (including parents at drop-off and pick-up) have a part to play in making it fun and stress-free for all.
Parents must pay and provide consent on Compass so that students can attend. This event is only for students of IPS (no siblings or friends).
Parents must sign in their children at the hall entrance and must sign them out when they collect them from the rear door of the hall. Students will not be permitted to leave the event without a responsible adult.
There isn't space for parents to wait in the hall during the disco so if you feel your child needs to have additional support, please consider contacting the PFA to volunteer.
Important Notice: 2026 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
The Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy guarantees every eligible child a place at their designated neighbourhood school (school zone). To ensure priority placement is maintained, schools may be required to verify a child's permanent residential address for both in-zone and out-of-zone applications.
We are currently planning our Foundation (Prep) classes for 2026. While all in-zone families are guaranteed a place and may enrol beyond the Department’s advertised dates, we strongly encourage you to submit your enrolment as early as possible. Late enrolments may affect our ability to maintain reasonable class sizes.
Shortly, we will begin reviewing enrolment requests from families living just outside our school zone. These applications will be considered based on available space after in-zone enrolments are confirmed.
If you have not yet made a decision regarding enrolling your child for 2026, we kindly ask that you do so by Friday, July 25, 2025.
To be eligible to start Foundation (Prep) in 2026, children must turn 5 years old on or before April 30, 2026.
We appreciate your support in helping us plan effectively for the upcoming school year.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Key Dates:
Thank you to Brayden and Hygenic Cleaning for keeping our bathrooms and drinking taps sparkling clean over the holidays!
We have a number of talented artists who have recently had their work published in an Art magazine called 'The IN Mag'.
Mrs Rodriguez proudly showed off their work at assembly on Monday. See more on the Art Page.
During the holidays, William L, from 4O participated in the Victorian Junior Championship 2025 U10 Open and was awarded equal third place.
William found it to be a wonderful experience and like the IPS community, his family are very proud of his effort and dedication. William's family expressed their thanks to Ivanhoe Primary School for always supporting students in developing their passions—both inside and outside the classroom.
2025 Ivanhoe Fair Sponsorship Packages
This is an important call out parents of IPS who may have their own business and interested in becoming a valued sponsor of the 2025 Ivanhoe Primary School Fair!
A much-loved community event that draws hundreds of families, friends, and locals together for a joyful day of food, fun, and connection. This is your chance to showcase your brand in a meaningful way while helping raise vital funds for student wellbeing and educational resources at Ivanhoe Primary School.
A range of sponsorship opportunities are available, including Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers, with stalls starting from $1,500 to $5,000.
Every contribution directly supports the success of the school and offers fantastic community exposure, brand visibility, and the chance to be part of something truly special.
In celebration of National Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Educators' Day coming up on Wednesday 30th July, we are pleased to see that our very own OSHC coordinator, Lexi has been published in 'Roundtable', the Community Child Care Association magazine.
This year’s theme for Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Educators’ Day is “Recognition and Appreciation”.
OSHC Educators play an important part in our community by providing safe and engaging programs which support families to work or attend to other commitments. We would like to recognise the significant contribution our OSHC educators and program leaders make and thank them for their tireless work within our OSHC program and the wider school community.
When you see our OSHC team make sure to let them know how valued they are and your appreciation for all they do.
Thank you for your continuing support.
