Our School's Sustainability Journey Gains Momentum!

In 2024, our Green Team has made incredible strides on our path to a more sustainable school community! With six dedicated senior Green Team members leading the way! We are engaging not only our students but also families across our community to actively participate in this important journey. A big thank you to Adam and Katrina for all their hard work in our vegetable patch.

Throughout the year, we've celebrated significant achievements:

Hosting regular Green Team meetings, completing our second bin audit to monitor and improve waste management. Receiving support and donations from generous local businesses, planning and beginning the groundwork for our veggie patches, partnering with Monash City Council Sustainable Educators to bring sustainability education to our school, presenting our sustainability findings to the entire school at assembly, inspiring others to get involved.

These achievements reflect our collective commitment, and we're thrilled by the progress we're making together.

Albany Rise Primary School was delighted to be presented with an award from Monash City Councils Sustainability Educator Celina Samarakoon for our participation in the Actions for Earth Sustainability Challenge!

Looking ahead, our school will continue its involvement with the Resource Smart Schools Program in 2025. This award-winning, free program from the Victorian Government helps schools like ours reduce energy and water usage, minimize waste, cut costs, and focus on sustainability in our learning— empowering students to become tomorrow's sustainability leaders.

Thank you to everyone in our school community for your support.

Let's continue celebrating and driving forward our sustainability efforts!

Please remember our up and coming FUN FIESTA November 22nd- calling all plant lovers who may be able to kindly donate small plants or pots- we would be so grateful.
