In Prep, the students have been focusing on giving and following directions as they programmed their friends to move around the classroom. They used these skills to then program Bee Bot to move around the map. They focused on moving forwards, backwards and turning right and left.
In Year 1/2, the students have been learning about algorithms. They recognised that algorithms are a set of instructions and they actually follow algorithms every day! The students were reading and creating their own algorithms to create a pattern on a grid and to program Bee Bot to follow a path.
In Year 3/4 , the students have been learning about algorithms and coding programs. They had to create an algorithm for their partner to follow and see if they could create the correct pattern. The students then began exploring the program Scratch and creating their own games for their peers to play.
In Year 5/6 , the students were focusing on creating a sequence of steps and binary code. They had to use binary code to decode and encode messages from their peers. They then focused on creating a sequence of steps in Scratch to create different games.
