Principals' Message

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow is the day! The Fete is a highlight of our COHR calendar, not only as a fundraiser but also as an amazing opportunity for our community to gather together and have fun! On behalf of the COHR Community we are so grateful to all the organisers, especially our fete coordinator Sarah Arnott, for all they have done. It would be great if we could all show our support by making as a big a contribution as we can. We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night.

At the end of school tomorrow you must collect your child/ren. Unsupervised children in the school grounds between 3:20pm and 4pm are not permitted to be on the property. If you are there helping out, your children are help out with you! Staff will not be available to supervise children and as always at the end of the school day, students become the responsibility of their parents.

Only One Day to Go!!

Here is your pre- Fete checklist...

  • purchase a ride wristband - Early bird price closes at  end of school tomorrow!
  • donate all your empty jars
  • fill up some jars and donated them
  • empty the garage of 'White Elephant' goodies
  • sign up to volunteer at a stall
  • bake a cake for the Cake Stall (leave them in the Hall tomorrow anytime)
  • gather your plant pots for the Plant Stall
  • make a bid on the Silent Auction
  • buy a ticket or two for the Teacher Mystery Boxes

We are also looking for as many helpers as we can to help set up on Friday, just come along anytime for as long as you have time to spare. The Fete finishes at 9pm, so we would also need helpers to pack up, again please stay as long as you can! The more help the quicker it will be done.

SAKG

Do you have any lemons you could donate? We would very much appreciate them for the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Lemons can be left in the office, as we will freeze the juice to be ready for next year's program. Thank you.

Next year the SAKG Program will be led by Kathleen (Eli 5/6) and Emma (Hugh 5/6, Ella 3/4 & Bonnie Prep). We are so grateful for them stepping up to enable this fantastic program to continue. We only have Stephanie Alexander because of Stella (Miles 3/4) brought forward the suggestion of starting the program to Brendan two years ago. The amazing amount of effort, time and thought that Stella has put into SAKG is a true gift to COHR. We are overwhelmingly grateful and she truly has given us a legacy in the continuation of this program, especially in the joy our children share in growing, harvesting, preparing, cooking and sharing their food. Thank you Stella!!

Open Classrooms

On Monday from 3:30pm - 4:30pm we will hold our annual Open Classrooms. The idea is for families to visit all the amazing learning spaces at COHR. Children will all get an Open Classrooms passport which is stamped at each room they visit. Completed passports go into a prize draw for some games and activities. You are welcome to come for all or part of the time.

We welcome all families to join in the afternoon and if you know of anyone looking for a new school or looking to enrol their child you may like to invite them to come and visit too. All are welcome!!

Condolences

Finally, we send our condolences to the Khoury family on the passing of Olivia's (5/6G) grandfather, Ivana's father. Please remember them in your prayers at this time.

Regards,

What a week, see you at the Fete!
