A huge thank you to Kris Preston who supplied the beautiful flowers for us to take to the Cenotaph on Remembrance day. Our school captains participated in the ceremony by laying our flowers along with the other wreaths as a mark of respect for the fallen. Everyone appreciated the solemn occasion and conducted themselves accordingly. We were very proud of the behaviour and attitude of all students.
This week is an assessment week. Students will complete tests and assignments which will help evaluate learning and assist in reporting. They will also complete a fee choice project, which allows for some creativity and exploration of students' interests.
History lessons have focussed on Remembrance day and what it means. We have studied the symbols and elements of the service, as well as creating block out poems from famous poetry of the time.
During Geography lessons students have been learning about the supercontinent that existed around 300 million years ago, Pangaea, which broke apart due to continental drift, leading to the current configuration of continents. This movement of landmasses created diverse biomes, as the shifting climate and geography influenced the distribution of plant and animal life across the planet.
