Prefect's Update
Hello families of Kinross Wolaroi School!
We can’t wait to continue to share the latest updates, stories, and initiatives from the student voice to you through this student Prefect page. To begin we would like to introduce ourselves as your prefect team for 2024/5.
Grace Simpson, Head Prefect
Hello, my name is Grace Simpson, I’m a day student and the eldest of three at KWS with a brother in year 5 and sister in year 8. I enjoy learning French, playing basketball, netball, flute in the Kinross concert band, and being CUO of B4. I look forward to getting to know more of the school community and helping everyone make the most of all Kinross has to offer.
Nick Tancred, Head Prefect
Hello, my name is Nick Tancred, and I am a border from Gulargambone NSW, about 120kms north of Dubbo. I am the oldest of four with all three of my younger sisters all attending KWS as well. I really enjoy modern history, and any sport I can get involved in. I love the boarding at this school, it is a real passion of mine. Along with other projects, I am particularly interested in representing boarding and shining the light on it that it deserves.
Xanthe Staniforth, Deputy Head Prefect
Hello, my name is Xanthe Staniforth, and I am a day student as well as the youngest of four to have attended Kinross Wolaroi School. I have lived in Orange all my life and loved the opportunity to attend a school in which has helped connect me with a multitude of people coming from a variety of backgrounds and who call many places home. I am passionate about sport and love the subject PDHPE along with any health-related topics, however I also enjoy anything artistic and am very interested in textiles and design.
Ollie Jarick, Deputy Head Prefect
Hello, my name is Ollie Jarick, and I am boarder from Condobolin which is a small town located 200kms east of Orange. I’ve been schooling at KWS since year 7 and I’m currently boarding in Wolaroi house. Growing up on a farm has cultivated my passions for agriculture, Metal Work and Biology. I also greatly enjoy playing rugby and basketball during my afternoons at school. In 2025, I’m looking to continue to build a strong and passionate school spirit.
Our goal this coming year is to foster a strong sense of school spirit with a focus on the ethos of “giving everything a go”. We can’t wait to get to know as many of you as possible and help you along your journey at Kinross Wolaroi School.
Kind Regards,
Grace, Nick, Xanthe, and Ollie
