Our summer sports season is in full swing, with students showing great improvement and teamwork across all activities. The Lakers and Flames basketball teams are making steady progress with skills and coordination, our tennis players have been dedicated to improving all aspects of their game, and our cricketers in both the Under 11 and Under 13 teams are focusing on developing their skills and enjoying their matches. Year 2 students are enthusiastically preparing to transition into touch football, while our current touch teams are building strong unity on the field, showing excellent teamwork and spirit each week.
We’d also like to extend our best wishes to the Stage 3 Tennis Team, who will be representing Kinross Wolaroi School at the State Finals of the Todd Woodbridge Cup in Sydney on Monday, 18 November. Competing at this level is a fantastic opportunity, and we’re all cheering them on as they take on the best teams from around the state. Good luck, team—your community is behind you!
Keep up the excellent work, everyone, and here’s to a rewarding season ahead!
During weeks 5 & 6 Kindergarten, Year 1 & Year 2 will be partaking in their Learn to Swim Intensives. These intensives are a phenomenal opportunity for our swimmers to spend time in the water improving all aspects of their swimming skills. For our intensives, students will be focusing on the following:
Comfort & Confidence: With a focus on fun & joy within our lessons, it is our hope that students develop a lifelong love for the water.
Water Awareness: Frequency of lesson provides an opportunity for our instructors to affect significant change in our student’s ability to manipulate their bodies in the water (propulsion & body Position), explicit stroke instruction & development of skills.
Skill Development: Swimming is an accumulation of smaller skills/movements which are performed sequentially to create a smooth, flowing stroke. Our sport develops an appreciation for process driven learning, whereby the learner must engage with instruction & feedback within an aquatic environment.
Safety Skills: With the recent release of some very confronting statistics by the Royal Life Saving Society regarding our youth in Australia around aquatic environments. We are ever so fortunate to be able to provide explicit safety skill instruction around all various types of aquatic environments, specifically focusing on safety around our waterways & pools, safe entries & personal survival skills.

Hi my name is Stuart Bell and I captained Kinross Wolaroi for our first game of U12 cricket.
We arrived at Cutcliffe Oval and the conditions were great. We won the toss and decided to bowl first.
James Hinks and i opened the bowling and i took one wicket. Then Tom Cardiff took one wicket which was a very good ball. Then we got a run out since the batter was unlucky and dropped his bat and got out. Tom Gibson bowled a really good ball and got him out. Then I came back on and i got someone out lbw and then i got two people bowled and i got a hatrick. Incredible! So exciting. Mr Whitehead gave me the ball and said it needs to be framed and put on the mantelpiece.
For the second half we batted. Tom Cardiff and I opened the batting. We got the runs quickly with some good shots and runs. I got 19 runs and hit a six which was my first ever !! Then I did another big hit and got caught. James hinks, Prayan Duyal, Daniel kerdic and Tom Gibson all batted really well.
It was a great first game of cricket for the season. Here’s to many more!
