French News

Bonjour tout le monde! (Hello everyone)

Here’s quick run through of our learning over the past two weeks.

Grade Preps and ones have been undergoing oral assessment over the past fortnight. After revising the main areas of learning, students are orally assessed in small groups to ascertain their progress during Semester two.

Grade’s two to six undertake written assessments. After a revising the main topics students complete individual written assessments during week five. During week six we return to teaching the French Curriculum for the middle and upper primary students.

Grade two’s have learnt how to ask and answer simple questions about things around them. Linked to their excursion to Werribee Mansion, they learnt to describe the rooms and furniture of a house in French.

Grade threes have also been asking and answering questions but have taken their learning a step further by learning how to conjugate the verb when asking a simple question. e.g. Tu aimes le foot? (Do you like football?). Tu joues le tenis? (Do you play tennis?)

Grade fours have been learning how to describe the colour and patterns of clothing. The senior school (Grade’s five and six) have been learning about the cultural significance of Le Jour du souvenir (Remembrance Day) an important day in the French calendar.

Au revoir! (Goodbye)Bonne Journee! (Have a nice day)
