Trivia Night Wrap
A wonderful night was had by all who attended our Trivia Night last Friday night! A huge thank you to our PFA for all the work done before the event, i.e. ticketing, sponsorship, and the like. And a big shout out to our MCs, Natalie Angelone and Mel Daglish (back by popular demand) who worked tirelessly throughout the evening. Maybe they have found their new calling?
I also need to make mention of our most generous partners and sponsors for their contributions and donations, especially our Gold Sponsor – JAS Stephens
and our Silver Sponsor, Sophia Garro Design -
And finally, thank you to our families and friends who came along on the evening and joined in on the fun and frivolity, bought raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items. Through your support and generosity, the night generated a total profit of around $5340. What a wonderful result!
Regarding Trivia results, our staff team began strongly and may have been firm favourites in some people's eyes, yet were overrun by Prepresent, who were crowned victors, winning in a tiebreak from Knock Knock.
Art Show
I hope you all have marked in your diaries our 2024 Art Show, scheduled for Wednesday 27th November, 3:30pm -6:00pm.
Come along and see a year's worth of Ocean Life-inspired artworks by our children. Who is the next Picasso or Van Gogh?
And don't forget to bring your wallet. Each of our Learning Communities has developed a piece of artwork that, would look great on any wall, which will be auctioned off on the night.
Auctions commence at 5:30pm
Fees and Levies 2024
Thank you to all families who are up-to-date with Fee and Levy payments for 2024.
As of last Friday, we had a total of $37,248 still owing.
Families in arrears will be sent an up-to-date Fee and Levy Statement tomorrow and, in fairness to all, we would appreciate accounts to be promptly settled.
ABC Music Concert
It was wonderful to see our ABC Music students display their talents this afternoon. They have all done such a fantastic job and we are proud of them all.
We will add some videos to our socials in the coming days.
Building Program
We are very excited to announce that the final stage of our Building Program went out to tender last week, after months of design, consultations and submissions.
This stage: The Reconstruction and Development of our Administration Building has been in the pipeline for some time now, having been interrupted by the COVID years and the soaring costs to follow.
The stage will see the realization of our Master Plan and be the final piece of the puzzle in the transformation of every building and playground since my time as Principal.
The proposed works will increase our physical identity (and orientation to the church) and embody and represent the school's Catholic context and contemporary pedagogy.
Specifically, the proposed works in and around the existing Administration Block will address the need for:
- Separate reception areas for the public and student population
- A sickbay visible and accessible to staff alone
- Private and discrete office spaces to conduct meetings
- Designated administration work area that does not become a thoroughfare for traffic
- Increased provision of staff amenities (for a staff that has doubled in size in recent years
- A clearly visible Entrance and Gathering Space
All things going to plan, works will commence in the new year.
It's exciting times ahead.
Have a wonderful week.
God Bless
