Spotlight on Learning Solar

From Soliarment to Parliament!

In Solar we have been learning about how our government works - particularly how bills get passed through the House of Representatives. We have been running our own mock House of Representatives in 'Soliarment House' where students have written and are trying to get a bill passed to introduce daily sport in our class. 

This tied in nicely to Year 6 camp this week where students visited the real Parliament House and could see our nation's politicians in action. We were very lucky to be there while Parliament was sitting and the students heard members of Parliament discussing real bills. They will be bringing their learning back to share with Year 5 in Soliarment!
