Catholic Identity

During term three the focus for behaviour expectations at Borinya has been being INCLUSIVE

“We work together to embrace and celebrate our differences.”

Dare to be yourself ~ Walk in others' shoes ~ Allow others to be themselves ~ Encourage others Value effort ~ Make the offer ~ Be Kind ~ Accept different views ~ Be respectful

"Love your neighbour as yourself"

(Matthew 22:39)

To Jesus "neighbour" is not restricted to the person living next door or someone you know, but rather any person in need, regardless of their background, beliefs, or relationship to you.

This includes strangers, enemies, and even those considered societal outcasts.

The following prayer was used most weeks and is based on the Borinya inclusive behaviour expectations.

Lord,

May all at Borinya continue to be blessed with the spirit and power of inclusion.

May we welcome the challenges of life, with a smile, and use them as opportunities to learn and grow.

We give thanks for being able to make the offer to others.

We give thanks for the chance to express how much we value effort.

We give thanks for the understanding that we should allow others to be themselves.

We give thanks for the opportunity, and ability, to make the offer of inclusion.

We pray this as a community inspired by the Catholic Story.

Amen.
