A small group of people have been working hard with the people at YAWA and the Council to establish the Mornington Peninsula Water Polo Club.  We are very happy to announce that we now have a date for our first session for young kids, 14U - girls and boys - to have a go at Water Polo.

  • Please see the attached flyer for information
  • Register on the day
  • Normal casual pool entry fee required, no other fees.  YAWA members can try for free
  • Spectators welcome
  • The first session will be held in the shallow end of the 50m pool, so all kids, regardless of swimming ability can hop in for a try.  We will be looking to move to the deeper end at some stage
  • Normal swimwear and goggles (if preferred).  Please bring you own floatation gear if you want
  • Highly experienced retired water polo players (Life members of Water Polo Australia, including those who have represented Australia overseas) will be on deck
  • Balls, caps and goals will be provided
  • Looking ahead, we will be holding 4 try out sessions at the same time, 1pm-3pm Sundays (Oct 19, 26, Nov 2 and Nov 9) at YAWA.  Sessions beyond this will - we hope - be team based and a game format

We - the Mornington Peninsula Water Polo Club (Guy, Mark and Ryan) - are wanting to establish a water polo competition on the Peninsula, possibly including teams beyond, and we hope you will help us to achieve this.  We will be seeking help from schools and parents so if you are interested, please introduce yourselves when you are at the pool.

Water Polo is a great sport - played all over the world, to the same rules.  It is fantastic for kids of all skill levels as it is a great way to learn to swim and to become a strong swimmer.
