DISTRICT ATHLETICS - Almost 30% of all students who attended from St Joey's have progressed to the DIVISION ATHS CHAMPIONSHIPS this Wednesday 8th October!
What an outstanding level of sporting talent and good sportsmanship was demonstrated on Friday at Mornington Athletics Centre from our St Joseph's Athletics Team in both track and field events. Although we are by far the smallest school of the district, we took out 1st or 2nd in an incredible number of events. To say that I am proud of every one of them is an understatement. Thank you to Miss Lumsden, Mr K, Mrs Souter and to Leah Willcock for their help on the day and also to Mitch Nibbs and Sophie Morton for their help with the large school shelter.
As with all division events, A REMINDER TO PARENTS OF QUALIFIERS THAT TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE EVENT AND SUPERVISION AT THE EVENT IS THE PARENT'S RESPONSIBILITY. Your child will have received a continuation notice at the District Athletics Day for times and requirements. St Joseph's will pay for your child's participation costs. Students are required to wear their SJS Aths top and navy sports shorts in representing both St Joseph's School and the Phillip District at Wednesday's Southern Peninsula Division Athletics Championships and to represent themselves and our school respectfully.
Check out our District Results: WOW!

SENIOR SCHOOL SWIMMING BEGINS NEXT WEEK FOR ALL STUDENTS IN YEAR 5/ 6!
Parents of Year 5/6 students, please accept the Operoo immediately if you have not already done so. Students will complete 4 lessons at Yawa Aquatic Centre from the St Joseph's Swim Staff, grouped according to their current level of swimming as determined by last year's swimming assessments, swim squad assessments from Term 1 or updated certificates and information provided by parents through email.
Students in Year 6 will also be tested on their Victorian Water Safety Certificate (a State Premier's Challenge for all students to achieve during their time at Primary School) with both in-water swimming and survival competencies, as well as in-classroom water safety knowledge and lifesaving techniques.
It is strongly recommended for students or parents to label all swimming bathers, drink bottles, towels, swim caps and goggles that your child will use during these lessons, so these are not misplaced during the quick change times before and after lessons.
If it is likely that your child will be absent for a lesson, it is important to notify me in advance via email, so that we may be able to test your child at an earlier lesson.
Warm Regards,
Jenny Todd
Physical Education Specialist & Sports Coordinator
