Principal Team's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Father's and Special Role Model's Day

What a fantastic Father’s Day afternoon we shared last Friday! It was a wonderful opportunity for students, dads, grandfathers, and special role models to come together, relax, and enjoy a game of footy in the sunshine. The laughter, teamwork, and smiles created such a positive atmosphere, and it was clear how much the children loved having their special family members at school. A huge thank you to all the staff at Maramba and the amazing visitors who joined in the spirit of fun and connection.

A special thanks also goes to our Friends of Maramba FOM Committee, who once again organised a brilliant Father’s Day Stall. The stall was filled with an incredible variety of beautifully wrapped gifts, and the children were so excited to shop and choose something special for their dad or important person in their lives. We are very grateful to the parents who donated, wrapped, and volunteered their time to make the stall such a success.

In addition, our Student Representative Council hosted a sausage sizzle on the day, adding even more to the celebration. A big thank you to Mr Tomazos, Mrs Sharp, Mrs Whyte, Mrs Kika, and Mrs Ross for helping with the setup, cooking, and serving as your efforts were very much appreciated!

R U OK? Day at Maramba

This Thursday, our staff came together to acknowledge R U OK? Day, with a strong focus on wellbeing and connection. Teachers took time to reflect on the importance of looking out for one another, sparking meaningful conversations about mental health and support. To add a little fun, a photo booth brought plenty of smiles and laughter, reminding us all that checking in with each other can be both powerful and uplifting.

Berwick District Athletics

On Friday, 5th September, a number of our students went to Casey Fields for the Berwick District Athletics Carnival. There was lots of laughter, excitement, and robust competition as our students competed in hurdles, long jump, shot put, discus, and relays. Congratulations to Iggy, Jay, William, Jack B and Eve for being successful in their respective events and qualifying for the Division Athletics! Thank you to Mr. Wilson for organising the event and to Mr Tolliday, Ms Van Rooyen and Ms Seema Khurana (parent) for encouraging students on the day.

Foundation Farm

On Thursday September 11th , Foundation students had the opportunity to visit Myuna Farm as part of their Inquiry learning for Term 3. Students had the chance to interact with animals in the nursery and paddock, as well as experience a farm show and take a train ride around the farm.

School Hats

As the weather warms up and the sun comes out, it’s crucial to stay SunSmart. Protect your head by wearing a hat whenever you are outdoors. Ensure your hat provides shade for your face, neck, and ears.

This is a reminder to all parents and students that hats are required for outdoor activities from now until the end of the year.

Foundation Bags 2025 survey

Each year, the Department of Education gives every Foundation student attending a Victorian government school a bag full of goodies to celebrate this milestone in their education journey. The educational resources and information in the bags are aimed at helping Foundation students and their families have a great start to the year.

The department is inviting parents and carers of current Foundation students to complete a short survey about the 2025 Foundation bags, by 11:59 pm on Sunday 26 October 2025.

Your feedback will help the department learn what families liked and what can be improved in 2026. You can have your say at Foundation bags 2025 evaluation survey.

The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes. It is voluntary. Responses are anonymous and will not be shared with third parties outside the department.
