Footy Day took place last week, with students rotating through activities including kick-to-kick, handball, marking, and stuck-in-the-mud. Two AFL employees supported the day, running each session and working with students across all year levels.

Dear parents/carers,
The last couple of weeks have been full of learning opportunities for our secondary students, both inside and outside the classroom.
One highlight was the RACV Road Safety Incursion, where students participated in an interactive 45-minute session designed to empower them to stay safe at home and on the roads. The sessions covered:
Passenger safety: being responsible and aware in cars and other vehicles
Pedestrian safety: safe road crossing and staying alert near traffic
Bike safety: correct helmet use and sharing the road safely
Home safety: identifying hazards and preventing accidents
This learning connects closely with our Travel Training Education Program, which links to the Metro Trains excursions students participated in earlier this year. Together, these programs are giving students the confidence to travel safely and independently. Next term, students will have the chance to put these skills into practice through a series of local walks, a wonderful opportunity to see their learning in action.
On top of this, our students have been working incredibly hard on their upcoming school performance. The energy and enthusiasm in rehearsals have been inspiring, and they cannot wait to share their talents with you on stage next week. Their teamwork, creativity, and persistence are something to be celebrated!
We warmly invite you to come along, cheer them on, and join us in celebrating their efforts. Your support means so much to the students and helps build their confidence to shine.
Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us in supporting your child’s learning journey. Whether it’s safety education or creative expression, these experiences are helping our students grow into capable, resilient, and confident young people.

Senior students have been hard at work during the structured work experience placement at Cape. Learners have been unpacking pallets, learning to use equipment, recycling expired baby formula, and packaging items. It has been an excellent introduction to work.
VPC students have also been working hard on their fundraising efforts, successfully raising money to support their end-of-year activities. Well done on a successful garage sale, raising nearly $500.
In addition, two students recently completed their Certificate II in Hospitality, a significant achievement reflecting their ongoing learning and skill development.
Families are reminded of several upcoming dates:
The school performance will take place on Wednesday, 17 September.
Blackwood Camp will run in Week 1 of Term 4: Future Ready students will attend on 6, 7, and 8 October, and Graduate students will attend on 8, 9, and 10 October.
Thank you to staff, students, and community members for their contribution to these events, which continue to provide students with opportunities to develop skills and engage in a wide range of activities.
ROOM 23
What a term it has been! Room 23 students have had an incredible term filled with excitement, learning, and hands-on experiences. A big highlight was the VPC Fundraiser projects, where students worked hard to organise a garage sale. Thanks to the generosity of staff and students who donated items, the sale was a huge success, raising around $500!
Students also participated in a range of real-world learning opportunities. They took part in RIJI mock interviews, gaining practice and confidence in presenting themselves to future employers. Work experience at Brite Industries gave students the chance to explore workplace skills in action, while excursions to William Angliss Institute and a TAFE tour provided insight into further study and career pathways. It has truly been a term of growth and achievement, and we are very proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown by Room 23 students!
